Savannah Teter, a theatre instructor in the JCC School of Theatre, earned a bachelor of arts degree in Theatre Arts: Acting and Directing from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Teter said she’s always been interested in performing. Her original interest was film work, but she fell in love with theatre. In the spring of 2021 the JCC School of Theatre began offering a small selection of classes, including a comedy improv workshop, and staged “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka for Kids.” Teter’s plans for the School of Theatre include moving beyond acting methods to include directing, playwriting, and more. “As exciting as it is to be performing onstage, the show wouldn’t happen if we didn’t have a crew to help out backstage and I would love to show people what it is like behind the scenes. I’m excited to see what the future has in store for us,” she said. When she’s not performing, Teter enjoys music festivals and traveling.
