Dance Instructors

Hailey Gelzheiser (she/her) of Moon Township, PA, is a dancer, educator, and choreographer in the Youngstown, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland areas. Hailey graduated from Youngstown State University with her Bachelors degree in Dance Management, where she received an extensive education not only in dance technique and choreography, but dance pedagogy as well. During her time at YSU, she also completed a Certificate in Entrepreneurship. She has been with the JCC School of Dance since its inaugural session in 2017, working her way from Intern, to Instructor, to Artistic Director. Along with teaching at the JCC School of Dance, she also brings her expertise to many schools, studios, and dance teams in the surrounding areas. In her free time, Hailey continues to find opportunities to learn and perform. She dances with Roots Dance Company, a Cleveland based contemporary fusion company, is a member of National Dance Educators Organization, and continues to get certifications through Dance Masters of America, Inc. Hailey feels so lucky to be able to bring her passion for dance to her students and foster their creativity through the art of dance day in and day out. 

Erica Hays (she/her) is a new resident of Youngstown, Ohio, originally from Marietta, Ohio. A recent graduate of Youngstown State University, she received a Bachelors of Art in Dance Management with a minor in Developmental Psychology and an Entrepreneurship Certificate. She started dancing at Stacey’s Dance Studio in Marietta at the age of 4, started competing with the Force team in 2007, and has been assisting and teaching since 2015.  During her time at Youngstown State, she was a Dance Ensemble Officer and performed and choreographed in Dance Ensemble shows from 2018-2021. She also works at The Dancing School in Girard and is a part-time nanny. This fall she will be attending the Acrobatic Arts Module training to further he knowledge of acrobatics.

Lydia Marshall (she/her) has been dancing for 18 years. She received many titles and overall highest scores in her ten years as a competitive dancer, which led her to pursue dance in college. Lydia performed with the Youngstown State University Dance Ensemble, the University of Akron Dance Company, and the University of Akron Dance Team. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Dance. Lydia continues to perform as a company member of Cleveland Dance Project, and she is continuing her own dance education with a certificate from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Almost as long as Lydia has been performing, she has been teaching. Lydia started teaching as an assistant when she was just ten years old. Now she is an instructor at Turning Pointe Dance and Fitness in Solon, Ohio. Lydia is also the Dance Coach for Gym World Twinsburg’s competitive gymnastics team. Additionally, Lydia is on staff with AmeriDance, which allows her the opportunity to travel to teach high school dance teams her original choreography. She is incredibly passionate about teaching and bringing her love of dance to her students.
