Marcia Levy is a lifelong resident of Youngstown. She is a graduate of Youngstown State University and holds a Master of Education from Penn State University. For the past eight years, she has delivered engaging talks and presentations to various organizations throughout the Youngstown area. Her past presentations have explored a wide range of topics including Famous Jewish Men and Women., Jews on the Titanic, Rabbis of Youngstown, Holocaust Survivors, Jewish Comedians and Homes of Liberty, Northside of Youngstown, and Warren.
Jewish composers have played a defining role in shaping the sound and spirit of musical theater. This presentation will explore the contributions of some of the most influential Jewish composers on Broadway. Through a combination of biographical information and musical selections, we will celebrate the genius of composers such as Lenord Bernstein, Max Steiner, Jule Styne, and many more. Their work has not only defined Broadway but has also touched audiences worldwide, blending storytelling and unforgettable melodies. Join us for a journey through decades of music and theatrical innovation.
