Many Jews are unaware that Judaism supports one of the most uplifting beliefs in all of religion, namely, that this life is not all there is. For over 2000 years, Jewish sages, Rabbis, philosophers and theologians have pondered what an afterlife might look like and how one might gain entry to the Olam Haba, the World to Come. Speculation has run the gamut, from resurrection of the body to immortality of the soul, from reincarnation to more natural ways to achieve immortality, such as living on in the memory of our descendants and the good deeds we do during our lifetime. We will consider the plausibility of these different approaches and the value these beliefs may have for our present lives.
