PARKINSON'S WELLNESS SUPPORT (Adult)

The Last Wednesday of Every Month | 12:15-1:15 p.m. | Group X Studio

Our Parkinson’s support group is a gathering of individuals with common experiences who provide each other with encouragement, comfort, and advice. We offer a place to give and receive emotional and practical support to others who are in the same situation. We share information about medical diagnosis, treatments, research, and strategies; Talk about feelings and receive confirmation that there are others dealing with the same challenges; Compare common symptoms; Discuss issues that are unique to caregivers; and Learn from local experts.

Parkinson’s members also have access to attend Parkinson’s Moves and Chair Tai Chi.

Classes are offered Monday - Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. in our Group X studio.

Parkinson’s Moves
This class is designed to empower those with Parkinson’s disease to take control with daily exercise. It’s a low-impact class that utilizes fluid gentle movement through dynamic stretching to promote flexibility, improved range of motion and myofascial release. Improved mobility can not only mitigate risk of injury but also improves strength.

Chair Tai Chi
Like meditation in motion, this mind-body class is a series of gentle exercises that creates harmony between the mind and body, cultivating and improving health and well-being.
