GrandFriends
Do you have free time? Come volunteer at the JCC! We are looking for older adults to visit to play, sing songs, read stories and have fun with the students in our Early Learning Center. Volunteering is a great way to improve your quality of life and connect you with the community!
No experience needed. A background check is required.


Happiness and Humor Group
This ongoing monthly group, led by Shay Kahani- Erez, MSW, LSW, will help you find the positive side of life. You will learn how to deal with difficult people and situations, steps to increase happiness in your own life, and the secret to a happy life. This event is free and open to all older adults. Light refreshments will be served. Meetings are the third Friday of every month.

Mindful Monday
Free your mind, body, and spirit!
This mindfulness group will practice relaxing and recharging your mind. Benefits include reduction of stress and relief from emotional and physical pain.
This event is free and open to all older adults. Light refreshments will be served. Meetings are the third Monday of every month.

Games, Cards and Puzzles

Lion (2016)
Adapted from the book “A Long Way Home’’ by Saroo Brierly, this movie tells the story of a 5-year-old Indian boy who finds himself alone and trapped in a moving decommissioned passenger train in 1986. Lost on the streets of Calcutta, he is too young to identify himself or his home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. 25 years later,  he sets out to find his lost family. This movie is based on a true story.

Mandala Workshop
The very act of creating Mandala (sanskrit for circle) can lead us to many blessings. With the guidance of artist Liz Lehman, you will have a spiritual piece of art to display. All materials will be provided.

Living with Alzheimer’s
Family Caregiver Support Group
Our family caregiver support group provides an opportunity to share your experiences in a safe setting and learn from other families who are also living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Light refreshments will be served.
