Susan Kanterman Book Club (Ages 18+) (Youth) (Adult)
Inspired by history, a riveting novel of love and friendship, motherhood and ambition, and one woman’s fight to be a Supreme Court justice. Sylvia Olin Bernstein, a Supreme Court justice, was 83 years old with not much time left. The citizens of the United States were torn about her. Half of the people were begging her to hold on, while the other half was waiting for her to die. This is not the story of her death, rather it’s the story of her journey to being a Supreme Court justice. From losing her mother at a young age to learning how to spar with a sexist mentor, Sylvia’s personal story reveals the intimate truth about who she was, while also shedding light on the dramatic tug of war between career and family, truth and convenience, progress and patience.

In Israel, we celebrate love, creativity, and sweetness - just like our cupcakes today!
Join us for February's Sweet Hebrew event where we will be decorating cupcakes! Each participant will get a ready-made cupcake and will get to choose a Hebrew word from our display that speaks to you for Valentine's Day. After that, you will get to decorate your cupcake with candies, honey, or maple syrup, and then you will get to enjoy your delicious cupcake!

In this once a month lunch and learn program for ages 60 and older, an educational aging wellness topic will be presented. Topics are relevant to older adults. Past presentations include financial safety and scams, health after 60, and long term care choices and preparation. A free meal is provided. Registration for each date is required.
